Sailing the High Seas

Happy Saturday Everyone!  Julie here, sharing a Mixed Media card designed with The Captain, Ephemera Backgrounds and Grunge Elements along with ODBD Custom Dies- Pierced Squares and Lattice Background and the Vagabond Treasures Collection 6x6 Paper Pad (all available from Our Daily Bread Designs).

I stamped the ship image from The Captain with archival black ink onto vanilla cardstock, then immediately re-stamped the image with vintage photo distress ink over the initial stamping.

Use a water brush to "pull" the distress ink over the image, add additional watercolor with rusty hinge and walnut stain distress ink.

Die cut and emboss the image with the Pierced Squares Dies, ink and stamp the telegram image from Ephemera Backgrounds stamp set with walnut stain distress ink.

Sponge additional distress ink over the edges and stamp the splatter image from Grunge Elements using walnut distress ink.  Mount onto a piece of espresso cardstock, trim close to the edge.

Die cut and emboss a piece of vanilla cardstock with the Lattice Background Die, sponge distress inks over the die to "antique" the paper and mount onto a piece of espresso cardstock.

Add strips of brown twine along with the twine bow to the center of the panel.  Mount the entire panel onto a white card base, sponge vintage photo distress ink over the edges.

Cut the strips from the Vagabond Treasures Collection paper, mount onto espresso cardstock and add to the sides of the card with dimensional foam.

Mount the focal image to the card front with dimensional foam and add the brown button to the center of the bow to finish off the card.

I did not add a sentiment but I think that this card would be great for a masculine birthday or Father’s Day, don’t you?

Thanks again for taking the time to stop by!  I hope you have a chance to play around with your Artistic Outpost stamps, and if you have time to create a project, we would love for you to share it with us on Artistic Outpost Facebook page!
